Seditio build 160 released !

The new build for Seditio, numbered 160, is available in the Download section.

In the next weeks, the download section will be populated with new/reworked plugins and skins, as soon as it's cleaned and tested for compatibility with this build. All existing Seditio plugins should will with this build, unless they're using one of the few exotic functions that were deprecated. All existing skins will work, if you apply the few upgrades listed here in the upgrade manual.

Below is a very partial changelog (full list is here) :

- HTML 5 is now the default doctype.
- Switched from Textboxer 2 to TinyMCE as default editor for all textareas.
- Now all content is stored as native HTML (no more parsing).
- Existing content is automatically converted from BBcode to HTML, when needed.
- Removed the 'PHP' type for pages (page.php)
- Removed some deprecated PHP functions in common.php and in forums.
- Improved dev mode, and the dev output is now only showed to administrators
- Changed most of the sql_fetch_array into sql_fetch_assoc, for an even better SQL performance.
- Admin > Plugins now checks if there's a valid PHP file for each and every hook.
- Tweaked many little things in the admin panel, too many to list.
- The installer now scans the /plugins folder and let you decide to install or not.
- Added the Skin editor plugin.
- Most of the plugins upgraded.

Build 160, beta 2 released.

A new beta version for Seditio 160 is up, with few fixes and improvements since the beta 1. Most noticable are a fix for the broken hooks for plugins, and some SQL tweaks that should shave some few extra milliseconds on your server(s).

Build 160, beta 1 released.

For all brave and fearless warriors of the Internet, here is the first beta version for Seditio 160.

Mostly, it features a heavy rework on the administration panel, some cleaning, and a rather important improvement, the main content is now stored int he SQL database as pure HTML. As a consequence the parsing of the BBcode is gone, the old Textboxer plugin is gone and replaced by a modern HTML WYSIWYG editor. Actually it's TinyMCE, but there's no reason why it couldn't be replaced by any other of this kind. Read more...

Build 150 released - Happy new year !

2012 will see a resume in the public releases for Seditio, right now there's the new build for the version 150 ("final") in the Download section.

Build 150 is an intermediate release, since its's basically just an old 130 with a sligthly improved gallery plugin built-in, few improvements in the administration panel, a better installer, and couple of other details and tweaks.

This 150 will be a solid base for the next build 160 that's I've been working on for quite some time now. Read more...
